Ever since my brother passed away at the young age of 22 traveling has become my escape from the world as I know it and every chance I get I’m packing either an overnight bag or my luggage to go out and see the world. I would absolutely recommend to anyone that they should travel at least once a year whether it’s a neighboring state or a once in a lifetime trip to the Amalfi Coast.
Are you feeling stuck? Uninspired? Lacking motivation? As women, we tend to put everybody else needs before our own as if taking care ourselves will make us selfish. Who told you everyone else comes first? Seriously, who told you that?
The Wonderful Benefits Of Traveling The World
We all feel stuck in a rut at times. And once you’re in that rut, it feels almost impossible to get out of it. You just want to feel productive and fulfilled again. One of the easiest ways to get out of this rut is to give yourself a change of scenery and that means leaving the kiddos at home. I promise they will survive without you. They won’t die if you take a few days to recharge and reconnect.

It doesn’t have to be a two week trip to Florence, Italy (although if you have this option, you should absolutely take a two week trip to Florence), it can just be a road trip a few hours away, to explore a new corner of your state or even a neighboring city. What’s important about the vacation is that this small change of scenery does wonders for your mental health. The Benefits of Traveling are endless.
Traveling Increases Creativity
If you’re feeling uninspired by the things in your daily life, then a little bit of travel will get your creative juices flowing in no time. It’s important to make sure that you’re surrounding yourself with new experiences to keep you from getting into a mundane routine.
Experiencing new things — whether those things be as simple as trying a cuisine, smelling lemons on the Amalfi Coast, touching an ancient artifact in Belize, or hearing new music in Costa Rica, or even interacting with new people and cultures will wake your mind up and get those creative juices flowing.

Traveling Relieves Stress
When most people say that they feel like they need a vacation, it’s because they’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed. It’s normal to want to get a break from the things that are stressing you out, especially if you’re under more or intensified stressors than you normally are.
When you are freed from your job, cleaning the house, grocery shopping, getting the kiddos back and forth from their activities, fussing about grades, or feeling like your husband is not pulling his weight around the house, you’ll have a chance to relax and let go of some of your stress.
Travel with a purpose of learning about of a new culture, getting out of your comfort zone, forget about your daily routine and just go with the flow and do what feels right at the moment. This will do wonders for your mental health and remember stress relief is one of the main Benefits of Traveling The World.
Traveling The World Can Strengthen Your Friendships and Marriage
Whether you’re traveling with friends, family, or your hubby, traveling helps you bond if Y’all don’t kill each other first! There are so many ways to keep your relationship strong and to grow together as a couple. For me and my husband, our preferred method is travel and explore the world together.
Yes, it’s kind of scary, but travel can bring out your greatest faults, whining about delayed flights, whose fault it is you all got lost and it can be a great recipe for stress if you allow it. I have learned if we get lost oh well just turn around and go in the opposite direction.
Traveling also allows you to see how well you work together as a team and as a reminder of why you fell in love with this person, to begin with. You’ll experience an increased closeness and a better appreciation for shared goals and interests.
I think this is one the most important Benefits of Traveling The World.
The Mental Benefits of Traveling Start Before the Trip Even Does
Planning for a trip can have similar positive mental benefits that the actual traveling will give you. The anticipation of your vacation will boost your mood as you anxiously await the arrival of your vacation. People are at their happiest when they have a trip planned, even if it isn’t for months. If you are anything like me you have a little extra pep in your step knowing you have an upcoming trip planned.
One of the other benefits of traveling is that you tend to feel more accomplished when you have been saving for and spending money when it is travel related rather than spending unnecessary money in Tj Maxx or Marshalls as I do on a weekly basis.
You think money can’t buy happiness? Think again. Spending money on travel is often considered to be a positive experience because they will last a lifetime.
Those memories will stay with you and help boost your mood in the future. when you’re stuck in an uninspired rut and wish you could be back on the road, on a plane, or even on a boat(cruise ship, anyone?). These are just a few of the Benefits of Traveling The World.

There are definitely benefits to traveling! I like how you highlighted the building of a team . We can even build a group (if traveling with friends). Determine who should handle what part of the trip and so forth. I love creating memories while traveling it’s kinda addictive in a good way.
There are absolutely benefits to traveling! I always say it grows your mind and spirit. You ginna come back with something you learned either about others or yourself.
I love to take road trips. I can’t wait to take my first trip abroad. I do feel a great big relief as I am traveling.
I totally agree, now if I can get this blogging and freelancing gig to pay me enough so I can go where my heart desires, then I’d be totally set. BTW that lemon was amazingly huge, loved see your pictures.
I totally agree with you, traveling hits the reset button on life for me. A change of scene really does something for the soul.
We’re probably going to do short trips this summer because they’re better for our budget. Just to have someone else clean our room or make dinner for me for a few days is a relief.
Traveling is such an escape for me. Exploring and learning new places just puts me in a calm state of mind.
I totally agree! I love road trips because the best way to relax for me is riding and looking at the views! A change of scenery works wonders!
I wholeheartedly agree. I feel like a totally different person when I’m traveling. I want to create a life I don’t need to escape from but traveling is definitely a great stress reliever.
I love this. There are so many benefits to traveling (locally or internationally) that I feel are often overlooked. This is why I am so adamant about taking my kids traveling as much as possible, even if my budget and schedule only allow for small road trips here and there. I didn’t get to travel when I was growing up so it’s definitely something I want my kids to be able to experience.
All of these things are so true! Travel gives me all of these things and such peace of mind!
Oh, this is good! I totally agree. Traveling is very therapeutic. I have learned so much through my travel experiences. My travels have helped me become a better person and more in tune with who I am. I think even having the opportunity to expose your children is such a plus. I’m so thankful for my travel opportunities. Thank you for posting!
Traveling is definitely a stress reliver! I know I instantly feel better when I leave!
