Spring flew by so fast that my family and I barely got to enjoy it; The days of comfortable spring breezes were replaced by the Tennessee sweltering heat which has reached temperatures in the triple digits. Just because the weather is heating up doesn’t mean you can’t still have a lot of fun outdoors. Check out these two great recipes using Minute Maid® Lemonade and FUZE® tea to beat the Tennessee heat.
I write an annual series on traveling in your own backyard by exploring your own state or states within a 3-hour drive to discover places that other people come from all over the world to see and explore. Can you believe my girls were actually tired of road trips and decided they wanted to stay home, invite some friends over and have family time?
What better way to enjoy family and friends than by preparing our Ultimate Summer Refreshments to stay cool when the mercury is climbing with no hopes of decline. We hope you will try some of these delish recipes to beat the heat in Tennessee this Summer.
My daughter has been begging me to make a lemonade stand for about 2 years but we are never home during the summer so it has never been high on my priority list. Since we decided to give the highway and hotel rooms a break I decided why not make a Lemonade Stand.
Setting up a lemonade stand is a classic summer fun activity that might just fund some of the other stuff you want to do or just a great way to connect with friends!
What makes a great Lemonade Stand?
- Make sure everyone is involved
- Right Ingredients
- Decorations are a must!
- Have fun
How to make the lemonade stand?
We had three old pallets in the garage so don’t go spending an insane amount of money on materials for your lemonade stand. Remember, this is supposed to be fun not rocket science.
Because I already had the pallets the only thing I needed was a few cans of spray paint, lemon printables on the front and viola I have a custom built lemonade stand.
The girls really enjoyed painting the stand!
Now, that the girls and I made our very stylish lemonade stand next to do on our list was get the ingredients for the lemonade. Since we had been traveling nonstop for 2 months I needed to make sure I had the best ingredients without breaking the bank.
The most important item you need when making lemonade and not spending a ton of money on fresh lemons is Minute Maid® Lemonade. Plus I needed a recipe that would allow my girls to be involved without them tearing my kitchen apart and guess who would be left to clean up their mess.
The girls and I headed over to our neighborhood Publix to pick up the items we would need to make a few of our Ultimate Summer Refreshing Lemonades where we found Minute Maid and FUZE® Lemon and Iced Tea.
I also grabbed a few cans of FUZE tea to make my special twist on the beloved Arnold Palmer. Minute Maid and FUZE® Lemon and Iced Tea are absolutely perfect for the hot sweltering heat of Tennessee and is my “go to” summertime refreshment.
I wanted to use the Minute Maid and FUZE Tea as my base for my beverages and the girls almost got into trouble because before I could add the Minute Maid and FUZE Tea to my recipe they had drunk all of them and I had to go back to my local Publix to purchase more. (Moral of the story don’t leave Minute Maid and FUZE Tea unattended).
Don’t skimp on the quality, serve good lemonade that will keep everyone not just the kiddos happy but the adults as well. You don’t need to spend countless hours squeezing fresh lemons to have the absolutely best lemonade, you just need Minute Maid and FUZE Tea!
Decorating your stand
Now that you have your lemonade in the fridge let’s move on to the fun part. Don’t overthink decorating your stand or spending too much money. The first thing we did was spray the pallets and be creative with your colors. I decided to use a burgundy or wine color for my pallet.
I purchased a yellow disposable cloth to cover an old 2*4 that I had been holding onto for some unknown reason.
I also dressed up my stand with yellow cups, yellow and white chevron napkins and straws for that summery feel. I also already had yellow beverage dispensers to pour my lemonade in once the decorations were complete.
You can also save a $1 each on the Minute Maid Lemonade and on the FUZE Iced Tea by using the Ibotta app.
Below are my two Ultimate Summer Time Refreshing recipes using Minute Maid and FUZE Tea to help you beat the heat.
Whether you are looking for a way to beat the heat, enjoy a relaxing family weekend, or you are having a few friends over for some adult laughs Minute Maid and FUZE Tea is the perfect addition to your next gathering or summer recipe.
