Fried Cabbage and Sausage
Fried Cabbage and Sausage is one of my favorite easy go-to recipes. I love that it’s so cheap and quick to whip up. This also a great recipe to make extra and have for leftovers the next day.
What You Need to make Fried Cabbage:
1 stick butter or margarine
1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
1 large onion, chopped1 small red bell pepper
1/2 pound Andouille sausage, sliced into round pieces
1/2 pound of Kielbasa sausage, sliced into round pieces
1/2 pound of sweet Italian sausage
1/2pound of chorizo sausage
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon of lemon pepper
Melt butter in a large skillet and add your sausage and chopped onion and bell pepper (I fry mine till a little crispy)
Cook on medium-high for about 15 minutes continually stirring to keep from sticking to the pan.
In a separate pan chop cabbage in halves and season with lemon pepper and salt
After sausage and peppers are done add them to cabbage and simmer for about 20 minutes.
I like my cabbage a little crisp not soggy so cook to your liking
That’s it, your dish is done and now you can serve it up!
This makes about 8 servings. Only 4 g net carbs per serving.
“This recipe works well for many occasions. This is also the type of recipe that you can add to or build on to make your own. This is a recipe that the whole family will enjoy even if your children aren’t too crazy about the taste of cabbage, keep in mind that the onion, bacon drippings, and kielbasa seem to tone down that cabbagey taste a bit, and you can also add other things or spices to tone it down.”
