A Girls’ Weekend in Los Cabos, Mexico
There is perhaps no better getaway than the one you take with your best girlfriend. Be it a bachelorette party, escaping your husband and kids, or just a weekend away to Los Cabos for no reason at all, taking a trip with your best friend is simply what the doctor ordered.
Cabo San Lucas may be a popular destination for couples and families, but this beautiful city also has lots of appeal if you are looking for a destination for a girls’ trip with stunning luxury hotels.
In Los Cabos, a paradise where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean, there is something to do no matter your age.
Farm-to-table cooking classes, golf, scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and horseback riding can all be experienced in Cabo San Lucas.
Keep in mind that we are still in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, so your girlfriend’s getaway will probably look a bit different.
Factors like your vaccination status, activities – whether to participate at all, and if so; should it be with a group vs. a private tour?
So make sure to check what rules are in place for Mexico (either through the state health departments or the U.S. Embassies and Consulates) and follow CDC guidance for how to best protect yourself and others while traveling domestically or internationally.
- Covid-19 test not required to enter Mexico
- A negative Covid-19 test is required to return to the U.S.
- Vaccinated visitors still have to provide a negative Covid-19 test taken within 3 days or 72 hours before departure.

The staff is very friendly and attentive, we didn’t want to leave.
We had several appetizers and they were all delicious. We can’t stop talking about the Mezcalita cocktails.
The music and vibe are very chill.
I can’t wait to go back to Cabo for another girl’s weekend.
Things to do in Cabo San Lucas for a Relaxing Girl’s Weekend
2. Cabo San Lucas – Beach and Desert 4×4 ATV Tour
3. Tamarindos – Farm to Table Cooking Class
This was by far the highlight of our girl’s trip to Cabo. The location, aesthetics, service, atmosphere, food and drinks, and attention to detail – just above and beyond!!
The drive to this historic and rustic ranch-style culinary oasis.
I felt at home – mi casa, and so far away from the everyday noise, and treated like a princess of cuisine.
Rhonda and I did the mid-morning cooking class with Aldo as our teacher. He was so attentive, skilled, affable, and entertaining without being cheesy.
Once we arrived at the farm we toured the property and were able to harvest our own veggies and herbs that we used for the cooking class.
There are rows and rows of Mangos, avocados, bananas, squash, onions, zucchini, and tons of fresh herbs!
After we harvested all of our veggies and herbs we made our way to the kitchen, but first we were given two of the most delicious and freshest cocktails I’ve ever had! OMG! So Delicious…
Our four-course meal included the following:
- Fresh avocado
- Ceviche
- Mexican Salsa
- Pork in green mole
- Roasted veggies
- Flan for dessert
As someone who often entertains, I know first hand how difficult it is to multitask with having to run multiple timers in your head to avoid under or overcooking, and move from one style of knife skills to another; all the while holding charming conversations and not seemingly breaking a sweat.
Aldo really made this whole experience spectacular and I am still singing his praises to anyone heading to Baja!!
I will most definitely be back to fuel my heart, soul, and tummy in the immediate future. I am so thankful for the hospitality and authentic experience for a much-needed girl’s getaway to Cabo San Lucas.
Los Cabos in Baja California, Mexico was easily the best place to enjoy a much-needed getaway with my best friend.
Rhonda and I wanted to have fun, be adventurous, have some downtime to get pampered, eat delicious food, and sip on a refreshing margarita here and there.
While this may seem like a lot to accomplish in one weekend, it’s really quite easy to achieve in Cabo. The Tamarindo Farm to Table cooking class was the highlight of our girl’s weekend.
4. Nightlife in Los Cabos
While you may think nightlife in Los Cabos is only for spring breakers think again.
Between the two major cities in Los Cabos; Cabo San Lucas, and San Jose del Cabo, there is something to do no matter if you are in your ’30s. 40’s or 50’s.
If you’re looking for a good time but want a smaller, cozier environment, check out the trendy 360 Rooftop Bar that offers authentic Mexican dishes and cocktails.
A night out with your best girlfriend will almost always be a good time but in Los Cabos, it will be one for the record books.
5. Spa day in Los Cabos
A spa day is a must-do for your girl’s trip to Los Cabo. After a day of excursions and a night out on the town, a full body massage is just what the doctor ordered.
Luckily, Cabo Villas Beach Resort offers everything from full-body massages, to mani/pedi’s, a steam room, sauna, pressure shower, and salon treatments.
Rhonda and I decided on the full body massage and I can’t even begin to tell you how blown away we were by the level of service.
I can honestly say this was the best massage I’ve ever had anywhere in my life! I received a deep tissue massage and whew, Lawd ham mercy, did she put her back into it.
I left there feeling like a brand new person.
6. Where to Eat in Los Cabos
What’s a girl’s trip to Los Cabos without eating and drinking the day away? The food in Los Cabos is as authentic as it gets, and food is the only excuse you need to plan a trip to Mexico for a girl’s trip.
Cabo is so much more than tacos and margaritas. If you are planning your girl’s weekend to Cabo, just know you will have much more than tacos and quesadillas.
Cabo San Lucas has some of the best mouthwatering seafood from fresh tuna, red snapper, grilled octopus, chargrilled oyster, to ceviche.
If you and your bestie are not adventurous eaters, now is the time to expand your culinary palette.
Aleta Restaurant
At restaurants like Aleta Restaurant, which is located directly on the beautiful Medano Beach with views of the Sea of Cortez as your backdrop, you can have it all.
We had breakfast there every day and it was absolutely delicious. From the omelet, breakfast quesadilla, breakfast burrito, huevos rancheros, to the French toast.
I had the grilled shrimp with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies for dinner two nights in a row.
We also had the mussels in the savory tomato sauce multiple times, it was super tasty and full of flavor.
The cocktails are equally as delicious and are made with fresh fruit, not that sugary syrup that other restaurants use to sweeten their cocktails.
Aleta provides a beautiful backdrop with open-air seating and unobstructed views of the beach.
Baja Brewing Co.
Baja Brewing Company is the first and only microbrewery in Los Cabos and all of Baja California Sur. The restaurant is located on the rooftop terrace of Cabo Villas Beach Resort & Spa.
The stunning views of Land’s End, craft beers, and delicious red snapper is all you need for your girl’s weekend.
The menu offers traditional pub items like shepherd’s pie, burgers, chicken fingers, wings, and onion rings; in addition to entrees including steaks, fresh fish and shrimp, skewers, and pasta.
SUR Beach House
Also, for another culinary adventure check out SUR Beach House, which is about a 5-minute walk from Cabo Villas Beach Resort.
If you are looking to experience fine dining, I suggest SUR Beach House. The service is impeccable and the ambiance is simple and fresh.
For starters, we had Kampachi Tiradito (crunchy calamari | passion fruit | yuzu aioli | turnip salad | Leche de Tigre), Roasted pork belly, and octopus taco, and Crispy shrimp | pineapple chutney | spicy sauce.
These starters were amazing. My favorite was the crispy shrimp. They were shrimp wrapped in a basil leaf, rolled in a rice paper roll, and lightly fried.
We also had the chargrilled oysters, which were so delicious we ordered another serving.
For dinner, we had Chitarra Frutti di mare (shrimp | calamari mussels | octopus), Grilled red snapper (Veracruz-style quinoa tabbouleh | plantain), and Half split lemon roasted chicken | zucchini | string beans broccolini.
The Chitarra is served on a bed of pasta with a light wine sauce. The red snapper was perfectly prepared and sat on a bed of quinoa. The chicken had a very nice grill flavor and was very juicy.
Conclusion of Things to do in Los Cabos for a Girls’ Trip
In Los Cabos, it’s easier to reconnect with your best girlfriend by immersing yourselves into the culture, landscape, or toasting your friendship with craft cocktails at one of the many luxury restaurants.
A getaway for a weekend of fun, girl talk, spa treatments, relaxing by the pool, or time out in nature is just what I needed.
Remember, if you are wondering if Cabo San Lucas is safe due to Covid – you always have the option to have private tours vs. group tours.
Don’t forget to schedule your Covid test for your return flight to the U.S.
