Girls’ Weekend in Los Cabos: The Perfect 3-Day Itinerary (2026)

Los Cabos is one of the best girls’ trip destinations in Mexico because it’s safe, easy to reach, and packed with luxury for every budget.

This is the exact 3-day itinerary I did with my best friend Rhonda, with where to stay, what to book, what it costs, and how to stay safe.

Here’s the short version before we get into the day-by-day:

• How many days? Three nights is the sweet spot for a weekend — enough for one water day, one adventure/food day, and one relax-and-spa day.
• Best time to go: November through May for perfect weather. Fly in August–October for the lowest hotel and flight prices.

Day 1: Arrival, Medano Beach & Sunset Cocktails

Cabo is my peace, and my nervous system resets as soon as I step off the plane at Los Cabos International; I feel my shoulders drop.

You know that feeling. The one where real life is a few hundred miles behind you and the only thing on the agenda is your best friend, a margarita, and the sun.

Try to fly in before noon if you can, because you do not want to waste a single hour of day one.

One thing I will say up front, and I say it as a woman who writes about travel safety for a living: skip the guys hollering “taxi, taxi” at the curb.

We checked into our two-queen suite at Cabo Villas Beach Resort, threw our bags down, and did not waste any time.

Straight to Medano Beach, which is the most swimmable stretch in all of Cabo, lined with beach clubs and the kind of energy that tells you the weekend has officially started.

We ordered lunch, we ordered that first round of margaritas, and Rhonda and I just sat there grinning at each other like, we actually did it.

That evening we headed up to Rooftop 360 on the 9th floor of the resort, and whew. This is the grown-and-sexy side of Cabo San Lucas.

The views go on forever, the staff was so warm and attentive we genuinely did not want to leave, and to this day we cannot stop talking about the Mezcalitas.

No spring-break chaos, no elbowing through a crowd, just good music, a soft breeze, and the two of us toasting to a weekend that was already everything.

That is the kind of first night that sets the tone for the entire trip.

Day 2: El Arco Boat Tour & a Baja Adventure

We started with a private two-hour boat tour, and I cannot recommend this enough.

Jacques Cousteau called this water the “Aquarium of the World,” and the moment we pushed off from the marina I understood why.

The Sea of Cortez was this impossible shade of blue, the sun was already warm on our shoulders, and it was just Rhonda, me, and a captain.

I loved it because it wasn’t a boat full of people we didn’t know, so we laughed and had a great time on the water.

We cruised right up to El Arco, the famous rock arch at Land’s End where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific.

On the way, we passed sea lions stretched out and sunbathing on the rocks, completely unbothered by us, and we swung by Lover’s Beach too.

The boat came stocked with snorkeling gear, floats, and chilled drinks, so all we had to do was show up and soak it in. If you are traveling with your girls, splurge on the private boat.

Afternoon in the Desert: ATV & Camel Adventure

Now, if the water was the relaxing part, the afternoon was another story.

We got picked up right from Cabo Villas and headed out to the desert, and let me tell you, riding an ATV through the Baja backcountry is the most fun I have had in a long time.

We tore through sand creeks and canyons, the dust flying, both of us screaming and laughing the whole way, until we came out to the white sand of Margaritas Beach & tequila on the other side.

You can add a camel ride through the desert too, which is exactly as wild and wonderful as it sounds.

Here is your permission slip: I had not been on an ATV in years, and it did not matter one bit.

You do not need any experience. You just need a sense of adventure and a hair tie. This is the kind of thing you would never do at home, and that is precisely why you have to do it here.

Evening: Nightlife on Your Terms

Do not let anyone tell you Cabo nightlife is only for spring breakers, because it is whatever you want it to be.

If your crew wants to dance until your feet hurt, downtown Cabo San Lucas delivers with big, buzzy spots like El Squid Roe and Mandala.

If you are more our speed and want something cozier, drive over to San José del Cabo for the wine and gin bars like La Lupita and Dalton, where you can actually hear each other talk and toast to the day you just had.

Either way, a night out with your best girlfriends in Cabo is one for the record books.

Day 3: Farm-to-Table Cooking Class & Spa Day

Let me tell you about the moment that made this whole girls’ trip. If you do one thing in Cabo, do this.

The Tamarindos farm-to-table cooking class was, by far, the highlight of our weekend, and I have not stopped talking about it since.

The location, the aesthetics, the service, the food, the drinks, the attention to detail: above and beyond, all of it.

The drive out alone sets the tone.

You wind away from the buzz of Cabo San Lucas and pull up to this historic, rustic ranch, a little culinary oasis tucked into the Baja countryside.

The second I stepped out of the car I felt at home. Mi casa. So far from the everyday noise, and honey, they treat you like a princess of cuisine from the jump.

Rhonda and I booked the mid-morning class, and our teacher Aldo? A whole gem. Attentive, skilled, affable, and funny without a single ounce of cheese.

He walked us through the property first, and this is where it gets good: you harvest your own veggies and herbs, right there in the garden, for the meal you are about to make.

Rows and rows of mangos, avocados, bananas, squash, onions, zucchini, and every fresh herb you can think of. Rhonda and I were out there giggling with baskets on our hips like two farm girls who had never seen a zucchini in our lives.

Then, before we even set foot in the kitchen, they handed us two of the freshest cocktails I have ever had in my life. OMG.

So delicious I am still thinking about them. And once we got cooking, we made a full four-course meal with our own two hands:

• Fresh avocado
• Ceviche
• Mexican salsa
• Pork in green mole
• Roasted vegetables
• Flan for dessert

Now, I entertain all the time, so I know first-hand how hard it is to run five timers in your head, jump from one knife skill to the next, keep nothing under or overcooked, and still hold a charming conversation without breaking a sweat.

Aldo made all of it look effortless, and he made us feel like we were the effortless ones. I am still singing his praises to anybody who so much as mentions Baja.

I will most definitely be back to fuel my heart, my soul, and my tummy. If you are planning a girls’ weekend in Los Cabos and you want the one experience you will still be talking about on the flight home, this is it.

Where to Eat in Los Cabos

Cabo is far more than tacos and margaritas. A few standouts from our trip:

• Aleta: right on Medano Beach with Sea of Cortez views. We had breakfast here every single day (huevos rancheros, the breakfast quesadilla) and I had the grilled shrimp with mashed potatoes for dinner two nights in a row. The cocktails are made with fresh fruit, not that sugary syrup, and you can taste the difference.
• Flora Farms & Acre (San José del Cabo): the famous farm-to-restaurant spots worth the drive for brunch or a farewell dinner, especially if your group is on the bigger side.

Baja Brewing Co.

Baja Brewing Company is the first and only microbrewery in Los Cabos and all of Baja California Sur, and it sits right up on the rooftop terrace of Cabo Villas Beach Resort.

Picture this: craft beer in hand, a plate of fresh red snapper in front of you, and the stunning views of Land’s End stretching out past the rail.

That is the whole vibe, and it is perfect.

The menu keeps it fun with pub favorites like shepherd’s pie, burgers, wings, and onion rings, plus heartier plates like steaks, fresh fish and shrimp, skewers, and pasta if you came hungry.

SUR Beach House

When we wanted to get a little dressed up and treat ourselves, we walked about five minutes over to SUR Beach House, and whew, this one delivered.

The service is impeccable and the ambiance is simple, fresh, and just right.

For starters, we had the Kampachi tiradito (crunchy calamari, passion fruit, yuzu aioli, turnip salad, leche de tigre), the roasted pork belly, an octopus taco, and the crispy shrimp, which were wrapped in a basil leaf, rolled in rice paper, and lightly fried.

That crispy shrimp was my favorite bite of the whole trip. We also ordered the chargrilled oysters, and they were so good we immediately ordered a second round.

For dinner we shared the Chitarra frutti di mare on a bed of pasta in a light wine sauce, the grilled red snapper sitting on Veracruz-style quinoa tabbouleh with plantain, and a half lemon-roasted chicken that came out juicy with the perfect grill flavor.

Every plate was a whole moment. If you do one fine-dining night in Cabo, make it this one.

Best Rooftop Bars in Los Cabos

If there is one thing your girls’ trip needs, it is a sunset with a cocktail in your hand and the whole city glowing beneath you. Cabo does rooftops right, and these were our favorites.

Rooftop 360 at Cabo Villas Beach Resort. This one has my heart. Up on the 9th floor, it is the grown-and-sexy side of Cabo San Lucas: 360-degree views, an infinity pool, chill music, and those Mezcalitas we are still dreaming about.

Come for a casual lunch or post up here as the sun goes down and let the evening unfold. It is the perfect place to start your night.

The Rooftop at The Cape, a Thompson Hotel. If you want something sleek and a little more upscale, this is your spot.

The views over the water are gorgeous, the drinks are beautifully done, and if you linger past sundown the music picks up and the whole place comes alive. Worth the trip even if you are not staying there.

Baja Brewing’s rooftop terrace. Yes, the brewery counts as a rooftop bar too. Grab a craft beer, watch the sun drop behind Land’s End, and toast to the fact that you are here, with your people, doing exactly this.

Is Los Cabos Safe for a Girls’ Trip?

Short answer: absolutely yes and this is the part I care about most as a travel-safety writer for women.

Cabo San Lucas sits in Baja California Sur, one of Mexico’s safest states, and carries a U.S. State Department Level 2 advisory which is the same rating as France, Italy, and the UK.

As of 2026 it scores well on traveler safety indices and is consistently ranked among the safest destinations for American travelers.

San José del Cabo in particular is a favorite for solo and small-group female travelers: walkable, café-forward, and peaceful.

That doesn’t mean you switch off. Smart precautions for a girls’ trip:

• Stay in the resort corridor or on Medano Beach, in well-lit, populated areas.
• Use your hotel’s driver, a pre-booked transfer, or Uber — never an unmarked street taxi.
• Keep valuables in the room safe and leave the flashy jewelry at home.
• Watch your drinks, stick together at night, and share your itinerary with someone back home.
• Buy travel insurance.

November through May brings low humidity, almost no rain, and warm days with cool evenings — ideal. High season (December–April) means the best weather but the highest prices.

For deals, go late August to October, the low season, when flights and hotels drop significantly (just watch the hurricane-season forecast).
