SeaSalt Restaurant is housed in downtown Nashville in the building once owned by the legendary saxophonist Boots Randolph. Sea Salt, a French-influenced restaurant, and bar which opened April 24th, 2017.
The main bar is the stand out feature of the restaurant because of the beautiful Himalayan sea salt and the reclaimed wood that is surrounding the bar. Co-owner Keith Zust and his wife own a farm and they adorned the restaurant with decor from the family farm which really gives the restaurant the feeling that you are dining with old friends.
The restaurant is elegant yet relatable and if you take a quick walk to the back of the restaurant you will find the original hidden entrance where they use to sneak alcohol in during the prohibition era of the 1920’s.
Eventually, this space will be turned into a speakeasy with original cocktails from that era!
The lunch and dinner menus are broken down into starters, soups, and salads, sandwiches, entrees, and desserts. The cuisine is a little bit French country with an upscale twist. Keith believes strongly in the farm to fork concept and uses the freshest local ingredients in every dish.
If you love mussels then they are a must a Sea Salt because they are steamed in their own draft beer with tossed in yummy bacon, cream, and herbs! Dinners range from the sea which includes bouillabaisse, grouper beurre, scallops and grits to the farm which includes steak Frites, chicken roulade, and whiskey pork shank just to name a few.
Although the food is absolutely delish don’t forget to experience cocktails! The bar program at SeaSalt was created by Jeret Peña, a James Beard Award semifinalist for Outstanding Bar Program. Some of the signature cocktails include the SeaSalt Mule which is a twist on the Moscow Mule and it is made with their house made ginger beer, Salt Pimm’s cup, and the Gulch which is named after a hip neighborhood in downtown Nashville. There are also a variety of local and regional brews along with a comprehensive wine list by glass and bottle. Make sure you check out Nashville’s Farm to Table restaurant!
