There is no other city like New Orleans. New Orleans has so much history, culture and most definitely a foodie’s dream come true. New Orleans is slowly becoming a mecca for boutique hotels because tourist want to feel like they matter and they are not just another number and this is where Moxy Hotel comes into play. Moxy Hotel is a 108 room hotel which features trendy artwork, old school games even a photo booth. Moxy Hotel was designed with Millennials in mind who want to travel but not spend an arm and a leg on luxury.
When you first walk into the lobby of the Moxy there is not a check- in area instead you check in at the bar which is located in the center of the lobby and you are given a free cocktail! Who doesn’t love a FREE cocktail to get your weekend started in New Orleans? The cocktail is their signature drink which is a riff on a Cherry Limeade. The Moxy also has a slew of other cocktails and wine on tap, and about a dozen local craft beers.
The lobby area has a relaxed feel and is designed for guest to socialize, lounge on the sofas, or play foosball right in the lobby. The bar has room service and drinks available round-the-clock. The elevators double as photo booths, there is a library on-site and rooms include keyless entry, screen casting, and motion-sensor lighting.
I loved the “living room” atmosphere which included Jenga blocks, board games, music and comfy couches in the lobby with the bar only steps away with great people looking to take care of your wishes.
All 108 industrial-chic guestrooms have Internet TV with Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Pandora, and Crackle; loads of power and USB outlets; plus fast and free WiFi. Furniture from Restoration Hardware and throwback telephones sit on the nightstands.
The idea of Moxy is to make millennial travelers feel that luxury can be affordable. The decor is more like that of a hip New York boutique hotel!! Very modern/industrial and cute! The rooms are just as innovative as the lobby and bar area from the shower to the flat screen tv on the wall.
The location is AMAZING! Moxy Hotel is just 2 blocks from Canal St. and few more from Bourbon St. The walk is decent to anywhere you want to go.
The crew at Moxy Hotel will make sure you feel like you are at home and like you are surrounded by friends.
I don’t intend to ever stay anywhere else when I visit New Orleans!!!
Do you prefer boutique hotels or chains? Where do you normally stay in New Orleans?
I was given a complimentary stay at Moxy Hotel to give my readers a different perspective and to share my thoughts. All opinions expressed in my review are honest and my own.
