The Best Oyster Bars in Nashville

Sharing is caring!

So, I’ve been hearing about Urban Grub for some time now because it is considered one of the Top Oyster Bars in Nashville.  As demand for fresh food grows the farm to table and never frozen options are in high demand. We no longer have to travel to far away places to get fresh seafood.

Today, I will hit 6 local Nashville restaurants to help satisfy your oyster craving.  This list will give you the best fried, roasted,  baked, char-grilled and the best raw oysters on the half shell in Nashville.

Best Oyster Bars In Nashville - Raw Oysters

Here are the best Oyster bars in Nashville.

Le Sel

Le Sel has an entire menu dedicated to their raw bar, featuring Maine lobster, Alaskan king crab, Gulf shrimp and, of course, East and West Coast oysters. The oysters are served with lemon and sea salt crackers, as well as the choice of champagne mignonette or cocktail sauce — simple, fresh and yet oh so delicious.

Marsh House

Located in the Thompson Nashville hotel, you can get specialty oysters on the half shell for lunch and dinner. Additional chilled items include lemon fish, stone crab claws, and yellowfin tuna.

Urban Grub

Urban Grub, my personal favorite oyster bars in Nashville.  Urban Grub is located in the swanky 12South neighborhood and has been serving up oysters since I moved to Nashville about 4 years ago and they always provide the freshest and tastiest oysters in Nashville.  Urban Grub serves five varieties of oysters, which keeps customers coming back time and time again. Try Urban Grub spot for lunch and dinner, or stop by on weekends to build your own seafood and charcuterie plate during brunch.

Kayne Prime

Although Kayne Prime is an upscale steakhouse and serves the best selections of filet mignon, Wagyu, tenderloin, NY strip, flat iron, and rib-eye, you might want to venture off and try their cold water oysters, served raw with ponzu mignonette. While Kayne is not considered a seafood restaurant it does have one the best oyster bars in Nashville so make sure you order the oysters a la carte or splurge for the Fêtes de la Mer, which includes shrimp, lobster, oysters, crab, and clams.

Fin & Pearl

Fin & Pearl has an amazing selection of fresh seafood. They have an amazing Ocean Bar which includes a raw bar menu that serves both hot and cold preparations of several kinds of oysters. Join them Monday through Friday from 3-6 p.m. in for Happy Hour for raw oysters on the half shell

South Street

South Street is known for their fried seafood baskets and is the “Go To” restaurant for late-night eating.  I could eat the fried, roasted and stuffed oysters all night. But if you are in the mood for oysters on the half shell they will not disappoint.  The oysters at South Street are shucked-to-order and they are also on the late-night menu so there is no reason why you can’t get your oyster “fix” any time of the day or night.
