The most reliable hot places to visit in November are Aruba, Phuket, Los Cabos and St. Lucia, where highs sit in the mid-80s°F and the sea stays around 82°F. Aruba is my top pick in the Caribbean, and with a Level 1 advisory, it’s also one of the safest.
Prefer to stay stateside? West Palm Beach delivers highs around 80°F, and the Bahamas are just as quick a flight from the East Coast.
I have traveled to more than 65 countries, and November is my favorite month for luxury travel. Hurricane season is winding down, holiday rates haven’t kicked in yet, and the best suites are still available.

Closest Warm Escapes From the East Coast
I live in Richmond, Virginia, so I get this question a lot: where can I find real heat in November without a long-haul flight? From most East Coast cities, these are your fastest options.
West Palm Beach is the easiest, at about 3 hours nonstop from New York with highs around 80°F and no passport needed.
The Bahamas are about 3 hours from New York to Nassau, plus a short hop to the Exumas.
For true Caribbean heat in the mid to upper 80s°F, Punta Cana, Montego Bay, Aruba and Curaçao are all about 4 to 5 hours nonstop from the Northeast.
Early vs. Late November: When to Book
Early November is the tail end of hurricane season in the Caribbean, so rates are lower, but you need travel insurance with hurricane coverage.
By mid-November, the rain is easing in Costa Rica, Phuket and the southern Caribbean, and the weather is far more predictable.
Thanksgiving falls on November 26, 2026, and flights and hotel rates jump the week of the holiday. If you want Thanksgiving week, book now. If your dates are flexible, the first three weeks of November are the best value.
1) West Palm Beach, Florida: 80°F Highs and Fewer Crowds
West Palm Beach is the easiest hot place to reach in November from the East Coast, and you don’t need a passport.
It pairs white sand beaches with a strong restaurant and bar scene, so it attracts travelers who want a long weekend of sun without a long flight.
Plan your days around cuisine, shopping on Worth Avenue across the bridge in Palm Beach, or a slow afternoon on the sand.
Clematis Street is the historic heart of downtown West Palm Beach. Start at Flagler Drive on the Intracoastal Waterway and walk west past boutiques, restaurants, bars and live music venues.
On Thursday nights from 6 to 9 p.m., Clematis by Night brings free live music and food and drink specials to the waterfront.

Safety Notes for West Palm Beach
Atlantic hurricane season officially runs through November 30, so buy travel insurance that covers hurricane delays if you’re traveling early in the month.
Downtown West Palm and Clematis Street are busy and walkable at night, but use a rideshare after dark and never leave bags visible in a parked car.
Rip currents are common on Atlantic beaches, so swim where lifeguards are posted and check the flag colors before you get in.
Where to Stay in the Palm Beaches
If I’m doing West Palm in November, I’m staying at Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach.
It’s right on the beach on the quiet south end of Palm Beach island, so you get the ocean without the downtown noise.
You’re still only about 20 minutes from the airport and a quick drive to Clematis Street and Worth Avenue.
It’s a Forbes Five-Star hotel, and it shows in the details. There are only 207 rooms, and every one has a balcony, which is exactly where I want my morning coffee.
Book at least one dinner at Florie’s. The chef, Mauro Colagreco, also runs Mirazur in France, which has three Michelin stars, and this is his only restaurant in the U.S.
On a lazy beach day, skip getting dressed up and grab seafood and a cocktail at Seaway, right on the sand.
Then pick your pool. One is adults-only, which I love, and the other is for families. Add a cabana, a spa day or a morning yoga class on the beach, and borrow one of the free bikes to explore the island.
If your kids are with you, the free daily kids club means you actually get some time to yourself.
2) Los Cabos, Mexico: 86°F Highs and Almost No Rain
Cabo San Lucas consistently ranks among U.S. travelers’ favorite places to go in November.
Sunny days, warm ocean water and almost no rain explain why so many travelers book Los Cabos in November. Highs average in the mid-80s°F, and the dry season is just getting started.
The 20-mile corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo is lined with luxury hotels that have hosted Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz and George Clooney, but my favorite is The Ritz-Carlton.

Safety Notes for Los Cabos
The State Department rates Mexico at Level 2 (Exercise Increased Caution), and Baja California Sur, where Los Cabos sits, carries an exercise increased caution rating.
The tourist corridor is well patrolled, but book your airport transfer before you land and walk straight past the timeshare sellers inside the terminal.
Many Pacific-side beaches, including Divorce Beach, have dangerous undertow, so swim only at calm beaches like Médano, Chileno and Santa María.

3) Dominican Republic: 86°F Highs and 82°F Seas
The Dominican Republic is one of the easiest warm places to visit in November, with direct flights to Punta Cana from most major U.S. cities.
Beyond the warm beaches, the Dominican Republic has mountains, large lakes and sand dunes, so you can mix beach days with real adventure.
You can go diving with colorful fish, hike to a waterfall and jump into a cavernous pool, or fill up on traditional dishes like sancocho (beef stew) and mangú (mashed plantains).
Pack your bathing suit, a few pairs of shorts and a light rain jacket for passing showers.

The Dominican Republic carries a Level 2 advisory (Exercise Increased Caution) because of crime.
Stay inside the Punta Cana and Cap Cana resort areas for nights out, use resort transfers or licensed taxis instead of hailing cars on the street, and leave flashy jewelry at the hotel if you visit Santo Domingo.
Keep an eye on your drink at bars and use ATMs inside your hotel.
Where to Stay in The Dominican Republic
Eden Roc at Cap Cana sits inside Cap Cana, a 30,000-acre gated community on the eastern tip of the country with beaches, a Jack Nicklaus golf course, a marina and a natural forest at its center.
All four restaurants overlook the lagoon. My picks are BLUE Grill + Bar for its Japanese and Peruvian menu and La Cava for a private dinner surrounded by one of the best wine collections in the country.
Each of the 34 suites has a private pool and interiors by Milan designer Marina Nova. Villas add a dedicated butler, and every guest gets private round-trip airport transfers.
Between the beach and your pool, add a scuba lesson or a sunset catamaran sail. That’s the Eden Roc way.
4) Jamaica: 87°F Highs in Montego Bay and Ocho Rios
If you want warm weather and an easy flight, Jamaica is hard to beat. November highs sit in the upper 80s°F and the sea stays around 82°F.
Most visitors base themselves in Montego Bay or Ocho Rios, and there are plenty of tours to fill your days if you want to explore beyond the beach.
Doctor’s Cave Beach is right in Montego Bay, and Dunn’s River Falls is about 90 minutes east in Ocho Rios, close to my resort pick below.
Before you pack your bags, add sunglasses and reef-safe sunscreen. The sun is strong even in November.

Safety Notes for Jamaica
Jamaica was lowered to a Level 2 advisory (Exercise Increased Caution) in early 2026.
Some neighborhoods in Montego Bay and Kingston are still off-limits for U.S. government staff, so stick to resort areas after dark and use your resort’s transportation or licensed taxis with red PPV plates.
Never accept rides from strangers or buy marijuana on the street. Hurricane Melissa hit western Jamaica in October 2025, so confirm your resort and excursions are fully operating before you book.
Where to Stay in Jamaica
Sandals Ochi, the all-inclusive resort in Ocho Rios, has a beach club and 11 bars, including the Caribbean’s first speakeasy.
Its 16 restaurants cover Asian, Northern Italian, French and Caribbean cooking, so you can eat somewhere different every night of a week-long stay.
For small groups, book one of the standalone villas. Each comes with a private pool, its own fully stocked bar, Butler Elite service and 24-hour room service.

5) Aruba: 88°F Highs Below the Hurricane Belt
Aruba is hot and dry year-round, and November highs reach about 88°F.
Aruba also sits south of the main hurricane belt, so storms rarely disrupt November trips here. That makes it one of the Caribbean’s most reliable weather bets this month.
The sea stays in the low 80s°F, warm enough to spend hours in the water.
Aruba is known for shallow coral reefs that are great for beginner snorkelers or, for the more adventurous, try scuba diving.
For an adults-only stay, Bucuti & Tara is a strong pick, with eco-friendly rooms in a white and turquoise palette, private dinners on the sand and a wellness concierge.
Though breakfast is the only meal included in the rate, you can add a dining plan to use on-site or at any of the 20 participating Aruba Gastronomic Association restaurants on the island.

Aruba holds a Level 1 advisory (Exercise Normal Precautions), the lowest level. The main issue is petty theft, especially from rental cars parked at beaches, so take your valuables with you.
The north coast has strong currents and rough surf, so save swimming for the calm west-coast beaches like Eagle Beach and Palm Beach.
Where to Stay in Aruba
The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba sits on Palm Beach, the island’s main resort strip.
It has 320 rooms, including 55 suites, and every suite has a private balcony over the Caribbean Sea.
The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba sits right where the white sand meets the Caribbean Sea, and it’s an easy base for exploring the whole island.
6) The Bahamas: 81°F Highs a Short Flight From Florida
The Bahamas are a short flight from Florida and the East Coast, which makes them an easy November escape.
In the Exumas, adults-only Sandals Emerald Bay is one of the most luxurious resorts in the Out Islands.
The Exumas are known for water so blue that astronauts can see the color from space.
This chain of 365 islands and cays is home to quiet beaches, empty sandbars and private-island resorts. Some of the most famous locals are the swimming pigs of Big Major Cay.
Visit the swimming pigs, then swim with nurse sharks at Compass Cay on the same day trip.

Safety Notes for the Bahamas
The Bahamas has a Level 2 advisory (Exercise Increased Caution). Most crime happens in parts of Nassau that visitors rarely see, and the Exumas are much quieter.
The State Department specifically warns about unregulated jet ski and boat operators, so book water activities through your resort.

7) St. Lucia: 86°F Highs Under the Pitons
Picture soaking in the volcanic mud baths of Soufrière, ziplining through the rainforest, eating your way through local island food and riding ATVs through the countryside.
You can also tour old sugar plantations or go snorkeling in clear water in the shadow of the Pitons.
St. Lucia’s history runs from pirates to colonial rule, and its Creole culture is still celebrated today, especially at the Friday night street party in Gros Islet.

Safety Notes for St. Lucia
St. Lucia carries a Level 1 advisory (Exercise Normal Precautions). Hewanorra Airport is about 90 minutes from Rodney Bay on winding mountain roads, so book a licensed taxi or resort transfer and avoid driving those roads at night.
Petty theft happens on popular beaches, so keep your phone and wallet with you, and agree on taxi fares before you get in.
Where to Stay in St. Lucia
Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort, sits on a former sugar plantation between the Pitons. It works for couples and young families, with an all-inclusive option and a kids club, and JetBlue flies seasonal Mint service from JFK to Hewanorra.
Hike the Pitons, book a treatment at the Rainforest Spa, or sip a rum cocktail at the poolside bar and cabanas.
For privacy, 67 villas are built in small clusters, each with its own plunge pool, butler service and a short walk to the white sand of Sugar Beach.
8) Antigua & Barbuda: 85°F Highs and 365 Beaches
Antigua is known for having 365 beaches, one for every day of the year, and Barbuda adds miles of quiet pink and white sand.
It’s a popular cruise stop, so book shore excursions that guarantee an on-time return if you’re arriving by ship.
A sightseeing tour of St. John’s pairs the local produce market with duty-free shopping at Heritage Quay.
For a full island tour, stop at English Harbour, home to the historic Nelson’s Dockyard and a marina full of superyachts.
Shirley Heights is the best place to catch the sunset, especially at the Sunday party. Barbuda, a short boat ride away, is quieter than Antigua.
On both islands, you can book yachting excursions and snorkeling at Cades Reef, or spend the day swimming and beachcombing.
Hotel rates are lower from mid-October through November, before the winter rush. Antigua also celebrates Independence Day on November 1, with events across the island.

Crime is mostly petty theft, so don’t leave bags unattended on the beach and avoid empty beaches after dark. St. John’s gets crowded when cruise ships are in port, so keep your bag zipped.
Agree on a taxi fare before you ride, since most taxis don’t use meters.
Where to Stay in Antigua & Barbuda
Sandals Grande Antigua sits on Dickenson Bay, one of Antigua’s best-known beaches, with garden pathways, tall palms and steady trade winds.
Dining is a highlight at Sandals Grande Antigua, with Caribbean dishes at Eleanor’s, teppanyaki at Kimonos and Italian at Mario’s.
I suggest the Mediterranean Oceanview Village Love Nest Butler Suite, which has views of Dickenson Bay from a private patio with a plunge pool and whirlpool.
9) Santa Teresa, Costa Rica: 88°F Highs as the Rains Fade
Santa Teresa is one of my favorite warm-weather destinations. If you love adventure as much as I do, book your next getaway to this surf town on Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula.

Expect long sandy beaches, jungle right up to the road, surf breaks for every level, and plenty of tours to fill your days, from Montezuma waterfall to Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve.
If you have extra days, add Costa Rica’s inland highlights, like Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve or Manuel Antonio National Park, before or after the beach.
Both are known for ziplining through the rainforest canopy and whitewater rafting.

Safety Notes for Santa Teresa
Costa Rica carries a Level 2 advisory (Exercise Increased Caution) for crime. In Santa Teresa, the most common problems are car break-ins and theft from beach bags, so never leave anything on the sand while you swim.
Rip currents are strong, so ask your hotel which beaches are safe that day.
The main road is unpaved and dark, so skip ATV and scooter rides at night and book a 4×4 transfer from the airport. Read more in my Costa Rica safety guide.
Where to Stay in Santa Teresa
Hotel Nantipa is my pick for luxury in Santa Teresa. It sits right on Playa Santa Teresa with about 500 feet of beachfront, a short walk from the town’s restaurants, shops and surf breaks.
It’s a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and the name means “blue” in the Indigenous Chorotega language.
There are only 15 suites and bungalows, so it never feels crowded. Book one of the five beachfront bungalows for ocean views from bed, or a villa with direct beach access if you’re traveling with a group. Some categories come with private plunge pools.
Manzú, the open-air restaurant on the sand, serves Costa Rican dishes made with local ingredients, and it’s one of the best seats in town for sunset cocktails.
Between meals, you have a pool, a spa, yoga classes and a fitness center.
One thing to know: the beach in front of the hotel is rocky in sections, so ask the staff where to swim that day.
10) Palm Springs, California: 78°F Days and Dry Desert Air
Palm Springs is known for heat, but November is the sweet spot: highs in the upper 70s°F, dry air and cool evenings. It has long been a favorite weekend escape for sun and R&R.
Beyond the weather, you get desert mountain views, midcentury modern architecture, a strong food scene and boutique hotels.
Palm Springs has dozens of golf courses, plus good shopping and restaurants along Palm Canyon Drive.
If you want time outdoors, November is ideal for hiking and desert tours around Palm Springs.
The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway rotates you up the cliffs of Mount San Jacinto to 8,516 feet in about 10 minutes, and it can be 30 degrees cooler at the top.
If heights aren’t your thing, grab a cocktail at the Purple Palm instead.

Palm Springs is one of the easiest trips on this list from a safety standpoint.
The real risk is the desert itself: midday sun is still strong in November, so carry more water than you think you need on trails like Indian Canyons.
The top of the Aerial Tramway can be 30 degrees cooler than town, so bring a jacket. Car break-ins happen at trailheads, so keep valuables out of sight.

11) Barbados: 86°F Highs and Warm Seas
Barbados pairs a tropical climate and warm water with one of the best food and rum scenes in the Caribbean. On November 30, 2026, the island celebrates 60 years of independence, so expect parades and events throughout the month.
Bridgetown, the capital, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with colorful historic buildings and walkable shopping streets.
The south and west coast beaches have calm water and soft sand, while the rugged east and north coasts are better for views than swimming.
Things to Do in Barbados
In between lies the famous Harrison’s Cave, a limestone formation that contains stalagmites, stalactites, and underground water features.
Island tours by 4×4 or catamaran are the fastest way to cover it all and learn about Barbados’ food and customs.
Watch surfers at the Soup Bowl in Bathsheba, look for green monkeys at Welchman Hall Gully, and tour St. Nicholas Abbey, a 17th-century plantation house and rum distillery.
Hunte’s Gardens is a peaceful stop for plant lovers, and the Mount Gay Rum Distillery offers tours and cocktail classes.
You can also go snorkeling through caves, tour historic plantations, or just settle onto one of the island’s beaches.

Don’t swim on the rugged east coast near Bathsheba, where currents are dangerous, and stick to the calm west and south coast beaches. The local ZR vans are cheap but fast and crowded, so take a licensed taxi at night.

Kauai is one of Hawaii’s smaller islands and one of the least developed.
Kauai is the oldest and greenest of the main Hawaiian islands, with towering cliffs, deep valleys, waterfalls and hiking trails for outdoor lovers.
Start with a Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour over Waimea Canyon, then hike part of the 11-mile Kalalau Trail along the cliffs.
Prefer the water? Take a sailboat tour along the Na Pali Coast, where green ridges rise thousands of feet from the Pacific.
Lay your head at the Lodge at Kukui’ula, a collection of two- and three-bedroom cottages on a 1,000-acre South Shore resort community.

Safety Notes for Kauai
Kauai’s biggest risks are natural, not crime. Rain can turn streams on trails like the Kalalau Trail into dangerous flash floods within minutes, so never cross rising water.
Kauai has strong surf and rip currents, so swim only at lifeguarded beaches like Poipu Beach and follow the posted warnings. Car break-ins at beach parking lots are common, so leave nothing in the car.

Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa sits on the sunny South Shore in Poipu, surrounded by gardens, lagoons and palm trees.
Rooms have sliding doors to a private lanai with ocean views, plus deep soaking tubs.
13) Curaçao: 87°F Highs and Calm Reefs
The “C” in the ABC islands, Curaçao, features historic settlements, rugged landscapes, and plenty of fun in the sun. (Aruba and Bonaire are the other islands constituting the westernmost islands of the Leeward Antilles).
Willemstad, the capital, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site lined with pastel Dutch colonial buildings along St. Anna Bay.
Once you leave the city, the landscape shifts to a desert scene, with spiny aloe and mesquite sprouting from atop weathered limestone cliffs.
Curaçao’s real draw is the beach: more than 35 coves with turquoise water and soft sand.
Curaçao’s reefs are full of marine life and easy to reach from shore, which makes it one of the best islands for divers and snorkelers. It also sits south of the main hurricane belt.
Gentle trade winds keep temperatures in the mid-80s, so you can enjoy the outdoors year-round.

14) Phuket, Thailand: 88°F Highs as Dry Season Starts
Phuket is Thailand’s largest island, and November is when its dry season begins.

Phuket has long beaches, easy island-hopping and some of Thailand’s best luxury resorts.
Things to Do in Phuket
It’s also Thailand’s busiest island, so where you stay matters.
Phuket Town is best for old-town architecture, markets and local food, while the top resorts sit on the west coast along Kamala Beach, Karon Beach and Kata Beach.
Surin, Layan and Rawai are quieter, while Patong Beach has the island’s biggest nightlife scene.
Phuket also serves as the departure point for many of the surrounding islands and there are a huge variety of day trips available.
Add a temple visit, like Wat Chalong, and plan your days with my 5-day Phuket itinerary.
Take a boat through the limestone cliffs of Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island, visit Phi Phi Island, where “The Beach” was filmed, or dive the Similan Islands, which reopen to visitors each October.
If you can time it, go for Loy Krathong on November 24, 2026. On the full moon, locals and visitors float candlelit baskets on the water at Patong, Karon, Kata and Nai Harn, and Saphan Hin in Phuket Town hosts the biggest local celebration.

- What to Expect: The monsoon is ending. Showers clear quickly, the sea calms down as the month goes on, and you beat the December crowds.

Safety Notes for Phuket
Thailand holds a Level 1 advisory (Exercise Normal Precautions). Red flags still fly on west-coast beaches in early November because of rip currents, so don’t swim when they’re up.
Skip renting scooters, which cause most tourist injuries, and use the Grab app instead of street taxis.

Where to Stay in Phuket
Amanpuri sits in a coconut grove above the sea on Phuket’s west coast, and it’s the most elegant stay on the island.
Spend the afternoon on the beach, then head to the Sunset Terrace as the sky turns pink and purple.

15) Kruger National Park, South Africa: 88°F Safari Days
Kruger National Park is one of Africa’s largest game reserves, and November is the start of its summer.
It’s one of my top picks for luxury travel in Africa.
Book a full-day guided safari to get close to the animals.
A professional guide makes spotting the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo) far more likely.
You’ll also see cheetahs, African wild dogs and hundreds of bird species.
Exploring the park on game drives or guided walks is the best way to see the bush turn green after the first rains.
November Weather in Kruger National Park
- Avg High / Low: 88°F / 66°F
- Rainfall: About 6 rainy days, mostly afternoon thunderstorms
- What to Expect: Early summer. Mornings are sunny and ideal for game drives, the bush turns green, and many baby animals are born in November and December.
- Flight Time: About 16 hours nonstop from New York to Johannesburg, then about 1 hour to Kruger or Hoedspruit
Safety Notes for Kruger National Park
South Africa carries a Level 2 advisory (Exercise Increased Caution) because of crime, mostly in cities.
If you connect through Johannesburg, use a pre-booked transfer and don’t drive at night.
Kruger is in a malaria area from November to April, so talk to your doctor before you go.

16) Jordan: 80°F Days in Aqaba and the Dead Sea
This past November, I finally made it to Jordan, and it was everything I hoped for and more.
The weather was perfect: warm days, cool evenings, and not a drop of the brutal summer heat.
I started in Amman, where the mix of modern life and ancient ruins immediately pulled me in. From there, I wandered through the rose-colored cliffs of Petra, one of the most jaw-dropping places I’ve ever seen in person.
We spent a night under the stars in Wadi Rum, and yes, it’s just as magical as the photos. We also floated in the Dead Sea without a care in the world.
Standing on Mount Nebo and thinking about its biblical history gave me chills. In November, Jordan has lighter crowds, warm days and some of the kindest hospitality I’ve experienced.

November Weather in Jordan
Amman & Highlands (e.g. Petra, Wadi Rum highlands)
- Avg High / Low: 68°F / 50°F in Amman, slightly cooler in Petra
- Rainfall: Light showers begin, but rain is still rare
- What to Expect: Comfortable sightseeing weather by day and chilly mornings and nights, especially in Wadi Rum, where nights can drop into the 40s°F. Layers are essential.
- Flight Time: About 12 hours nonstop from New York to Amman
Aqaba & Dead Sea (Coastal/Low-Water Areas)
- Avg High / Low: About 80°F / 62°F in Aqaba and 82°F / 66°F at the Dead Sea
- Rainfall: Almost none
- Sea Temperature: About 77°F in the Red Sea at Aqaba
- What to Expect: This is where Jordan is warm in November. It’s great for swimming, snorkeling and floating in the Dead Sea.
Safety Notes for Jordan
The U.S. State Department rates Jordan at Level 3 (Reconsider Travel) because of terrorism and armed conflict.
Since U.S. and Iran hostilities began in February 2026, there has been an ongoing threat of drone and missile attacks from Iran and major disruptions to commercial flights.
Specific areas carry a Level 4 (Do Not Travel) warning: the borders with Syria and Iraq, including Mansheyat al Ghayyath and Ruwayshid; the Syrian refugee camps at Azraq, Za’atari and King Abdullah Park; Rusayfah City; and the Baqa’a neighborhood of Ayn Basha.
None of the places I recommend in this post (Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum, Aqaba and the Dead Sea) are on that list.
My trip was before the advisory was raised, and I felt welcomed and safe the entire time.
If you go now, read the current advisory before you book, enroll in the State Department’s STEP program, and buy travel insurance that covers flight cancellations, trip interruption and evacuation.
Book Petra and Wadi Rum with a licensed guide, avoid driving the Dead Sea Highway and the Desert Highway at night, and watch for flash flood warnings, which are common from October to March.

Where to Stay in Jordan
During my 12-day trip through Jordan, I stayed in a mix of luxury resorts, city hotels and one desert camp.

Dead Sea and Petra
1. Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea
This resort sits right on the shore of the Dead Sea.
With several infinity pools, a full spa and direct beach access, it’s the best place to recover after a day of sightseeing. Don’t miss the sunrise.
2. Mövenpick Resort Petra
You can’t beat the location, steps from the entrance to Petra. The décor is traditional Jordanian, and the rooftop has great sunset views.
After a long day trekking through Petra, their hearty breakfast and cozy rooms are just what you need.
Amman and Wadi Rum
3. W Amman
Modern and central, W Amman is a good base for restaurants, nightlife and exploring the city.
4. Wadi Rum Bubble Luxotel
If you want to live out your “Martian” dreams, this is the place. The dome tents have clear views of the stars and the red sand desert.
This was one of my favorite experiences of the entire trip. Waking up to the stillness of the desert is something special.

FAQ: Hot Places to Visit in November
The most reliable places that are hot in November are Aruba, Curaçao, Phuket, Los Cabos and the southern Caribbean, where highs average 85°F to 88°F and the sea stays above 80°F. In the U.S., West Palm Beach, Kauai and Palm Springs are your best bets.
Of the 16 places in this guide, Phuket, Santa Teresa, Kruger National Park and Aruba run the hottest, with average highs around 88°F. Aruba is the most reliable for dry weather because it sits south of the main hurricane belt.
West Palm Beach, Kauai, the Bahamas and Jordan’s Aqaba and Dead Sea all average about 80°F in November. For highs in the mid to upper 80s, head to Los Cabos, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Barbados or Curaçao.
West Palm Beach, Florida and Kauai, Hawaii both average 80°F highs, and Palm Springs, California averages 78°F with almost no rain. All three are easy trips without a passport.
Safety and Planning Questions
Yes. Hurricane season officially ends November 30, and storm activity usually drops sharply after October. You get sea temperatures around 82°F, lower rates than December and fewer crowds. Buy travel insurance with hurricane coverage, especially for early November trips.
Los Cabos, Palm Springs and Jordan are the driest picks on this list. Los Cabos averages one or two rainy days in November, Palm Springs averages about one, and Aqaba and the Dead Sea see almost no rain.
Aruba, Curaçao, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Lucia and Thailand all carry Level 1 U.S. State Department advisories, the lowest level, as of October 2026. Advisory levels change, so check travel.state.gov before you book.
For romance, I would book Sugar Beach in St. Lucia, Amanpuri in Phuket, or an adults-only Sandals resort in the Bahamas or Curaçao. Each pairs warm November weather with private villas, plunge pools and butler service.

My Top Picks: Where I’d Go This November
If you want guaranteed heat, book Aruba. It sits below the hurricane belt, averages 88°F in November, and rarely gets more than a passing shower.
Curaçao, Phuket and Los Cabos are close behind, with highs in the upper 80s°F and warm, swimmable water.
If you only have a long weekend, West Palm Beach and the Bahamas are a short flight from most of the East Coast, with highs around 80°F.
Palm Springs is the easy pick for the West Coast, with dry desert days in the upper 70s°F.
If you want more than a beach chair, go on safari in Kruger National Park during baby animal season, or surf and do yoga in Santa Teresa.
For a romantic splurge, it’s hard to beat a villa with a plunge pool at Sugar Beach in St. Lucia.
Wherever you land, do three things before you book: check the forecast for your exact dates, read the current State Department advisory, and buy travel insurance that covers hurricanes and flight cancellations.
Then pack your sunscreen and go enjoy the heat while everyone back home is digging out their winter coats.
